# What is a constituent profile?

A constituent profile is a record that contains all the information in the database about that constituent. There are three types of constituent profiles available:

- **Individual** - Individual constituent profiles are for people's records. These can be an individual person, or it can also be used for a couple, if desired. 
- **Company** - The software uses the term “company” to identify any organization, business, foundation, school, church, agency, or group. Company records differ slightly from individual constituent profiles and have different data fields available on them. 
- **Household** - Household constituent profiles are used to link together individual constituent records in one summary record for financial reporting. Household records are optional. You can always link together constituents via relationships. The Household constituent profile will create a new, unique record that increases the total number of constituents in your database. 

On the Constituents grid, you will be able to see the type of profile under the Profile Type column.

## **Individual Profiles**

Each profile will include a profile page with the contact information, categories, and other details about the constituent. At the top of each profile you will find tabs to additional information about this constituents transactions and communication history including a list of this constituents:

- Gifts - all transactions including donations, events, auctions, and memberships
- Pledges - all pledges
- Interactions - any interactions recorded for this constituent
- Documents - any documents uploaded by the constituent via a form or saved internally
- Relationships - connections to other constituents in the database
- Events - all event purchases
- Event Attendance - all events this constituent is set up as an attendee, even if they are not the purchaser
- Auctions - all auction bids, paddle raises, and auction add-ons
- Memberships - complete history of every membership transactions and/or group membership affliations
- Time Tracking - all time tracking records
- Background Check - results of any background checks initiated via the software
- Engagement - a summary report of all touches with this constituent throughout their entire history
- Custom Forms - internal survey responses completed by an internal user
- Surveys/Forms - external survey/form responses submitted by the constituent
- Email Campaigns - a list of all email campaigns sent, open rates, links clicks, and direct email history
- Payment Options - credit cards on file and any gift cards 

Within each of these tabs you can also generate new transactions, interactions, relationships, documents or survey responses as well.

## **Company Profiles**

Company profiles include slightly different information on the profile page. Fields like Prefix, First Name, Title, Gender and Birthdate are not required for company records. It includes other fields that are not on an individual profile page like EIN, Industry, Number of Employees, and Company Description.

The tabs on a company profile are the same as those available in an individual profile.

Company profiles will also include a list of company contacts. Company contacts are constituents who are linked to the company in an employer-employee relationships. Company contacts are not the same a group members, which are listed independently under the Memberships tab. An employee may or may not also be part of a group membership with the company.

## **Household Profiles**

Household profiles show simpler information since they are a summary of transactions, interactions, documents, and time tracking for the various members of the household. The main profile page contact information is copied from the Head of Household.
