No, a pledge or donation will not be recorded on the matching constituent’s record when a contribution is identified as eligible for a matching gift. Once the matching gift donation has been received, you will record the gift as you would any other contribution. Most organizations will also add a soft credit to the employee/constituent who submitted the original contribution and requested the match. You can also add information about the original donor in the Memo or Description fields.
