On all the main grids you are able to lock or unlock the position of a column. Locking a column will lock it in place on the left side of the grid. Unlocking a locked column will move it the the next position to the left of any other locked columns. The lock/unlock feature is found in the Column Settings which are the three small dots at the top of each column.
Select Lock Column to freeze the column on the left side of the grid.
With any columns locked in place, as you use the slide bar at the bottom of the grid, the locked columns remain visible to the left of the vertical line on the right most locked column.
Columns can move manually dragged into and out of the locked columns. You can also use the lock icon in the View Builder to lock a column. Locked columns cannot be moved or removed from the Selected Columns in the builder until the lock is unlocked.
