A contact is an individual person and a company is a group or organization. It is important to choose correctly when entering a new constituent because each profile has different fields applicable to that type of constituent. For example, a contact includes fields like First Name and Title which are not applicable to a Company profile. In the Company profile, there are fields like Number of Employees and Company Industry.
