The Auction Settings tab allows you to set up the dates your auction is happening as well as default features and information for the auction.
1. At the top of the page, you can choose the Page Title Alignment for the title you set up in the previous step on the Acknowledgement Info tab.
2. Toggling Display Message to YES will reveal two new fields.
- Message Title - to add a sub-title to your page.
- Message Body - to add details about your auction.
3. The Auction starts on and Ends on allow you to enter the date and time the auction page is visible to the public. If you would like your auction bidders to have a preview of the page prior to it starting, be sure to enter an Auction starts on date when you would like them to be able to view the page.
4. The Goal Category must be selected if you would like to use the Goal Progress Widget feature on the page. This will show the progress towards your goal as a thermometer or donut and is set up in the Widget Settings tab. You can create a new goal category for the auction alone, or you can combine the funds raised with other pages and donations by using the same Goal Category selection for other pages and manual donation entries.
5. If you are hosting an Online Auction, mark this toggle to YES. An online auction is any auction where bidders can bid with a computer or mobile device/cell phone. You must have text messaging activated to use this feature. If you do not have text messaging activated yet, you can request it to be activated by visiting Workspace > Reports > Text Messaging Activity. Note that it takes about 2 weeks to get a new text messaging phone number activated for your account.
- With this toggle set to YES, you can set the Bidding starts on and ends on time and date. Bidders can view the items in the date range set above, but they cannot bid outside of the Bidding starts on and ends on time/date range. Note if you wish to extend the bidding, you can, just be sure you have not sent any winning bid notifications.
- You can also customise Message to display when online bidding is not active.
- A countdown clock will be added to the auction page to countdown the time to start bidding, as well as a countdown to end of bidding after it has started.
6. Hide from Donor (Constituent) Portal when set to YES will not show this auction as a selection to join from the Auctions icon.
7. Message to display on receipt is an additional message you can add to receipts that are generated from the auctions grid.
8. Default Auction Items Sort Order is a drop down menu to allow you to select what order you would like to display your auction items on the page.
9. Ticket Purchase Required set to YES will add a link to an event page to allow auction participants to purchase tickets to your event. The purchase is no longer required to participate in the auction.
- You can select the Event page from the drop down menu.
- You can customize the Button Text for purchasing the event tickets.
10. Show Donation Button set to YES will add a link to a donation page.

With this set to NO, if you enter an add-on purchase, it will attempt to auto charge a credit card on file or require entry of a payment type.
